TCS ReScore App Featured in UN Report on Sustainable Marketing and Growth

Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has been featured in the United Nations’ CMO Blueprint for Sustainable Growth report for its contribution to sustainability-driven marketing. The report highlights TCS ReScore app, which empowers sporting event organizers to measure, manage, and reduce their environmental impact year after year.

The CMO Blueprint for Sustainable Growth interviewed Chief Marketing Officers across industries and showcased ten case studies where marketing played a vital role in advancing the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

TCS ReScore App Featured in UN Report on Sustainable Growth

TCS ReScore app was spotlighted as a significant innovation in the sports ecosystem. Commissioned by the Council for Responsible Sport, ReScore was developed by TCS under its CSR initiative Sadhana SamarpaN, which envisions “Only One Liveable Planet – with No Plan B: Live Sustainably, Leave No One Behind.”

Driving Sustainability Through Technology and Marketing

The TCS ReScore app provides sporting events with a framework to track sustainability practices across five pillars – Planning & Communications, Procurement, Resource Management, Access & Equity, and Community Legacy. It has already supported 53 events and organizations in securing certifications from the Council for Responsible Sport.

Notable examples include:

  • TCS London Marathon (2025): Medals made from recycled zinc alloy, and participants offered the choice to plant a tree instead of receiving a T-shirt.
  • TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon & Chicago Marathon: Reduced energy consumption and waste, earning ‘Evergreen’ certification.

Abhinav Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer at TCS, said, “This recognition highlights the role of marketing, communications, and innovation in achieving sustainable growth. With ReScore, we demonstrate how technology and responsible marketing can deliver measurable environmental impact while creating long-term value for communities.”

TCS’ Broader Climate Commitments

The report noted that 91% of CEOs believe their role includes protecting local communities, but CMOs are increasingly expected to drive action. TCS’ initiatives align with this trend, as the company integrates sustainability into its marketing and sponsorship strategy.

TCS has already achieved an 84% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in FY25 compared to its 2016 base year. Its renewable energy usage has increased 23 times over the past nine years.
